Subscribers can start navigating for data available on the site through any of the following three different ways:
Through Homepage
By clicking on the Login Tab being provided on top of the website
Once the Login Tab is clicked, dialog box (as indicated in the image below) will appear where in Log into the site can be made by clicking IP login tab (in case of IP based access) or by providing Username & Password (in case access is not IP based)
After clicking on the LOGIN tab, both in the case of IP login or Username and Password based access, the access will be authorize and on successful authorization, the name of Institution/Company/Individual will be appeared within the Subscriber/IndiastatDistricts log as indicated the image below, which means that the login is successfully made and data can now be accessed.
By Navigating the site
The site can also be navigated directly by clicking any of the state image being available on the Homepage; wherein the desired data category can be accessed accordingly for that particular state.
By Searching the Data
The desired data can also be searched by using search bar being made available on the top of the website.
Where to Login
It is advisable to start navigating the site by first log-in as suggested below:
Login through IP
If the access is assigned through IP:
Clickon the LOGIN tab available on top of the website.
On clicking over the LOGIN tab, a dialog box will appear wherein a click on the LOGIN button placed below the through IP Login will give the successful Login into the site after due authorization of the IP ranges configured at our end.
After successful login is made, the name of Institution/Company/Individual will be appeared within the Subscriber/Indiastat log as indicated the image below which means that the login is successfully made and data can now be accessed.
Login through Username and Password
If the access is assigned through Username and Password:
Click on the LOGIN tab available on top of the website.
On clicking over the LOGIN tab, a dialog box will appear wherein after providing the username and password in the respective boxes and click on the LOGIN button will give the successful Login into the site after due authorization of the login credentials at our end.
After successful login is made, the name of Institution/Company/Individual will be appeared within the Subscriber/Indiastat log as indicated the image below which means that the login is successfully made and data can now be accessed.
Navigating for Data
The site can be navigated for data either after making a successful Login into the site or even without making the Login into the site. To navigate the site for both the ways, follow the following steps:

The site can also be navigated directly by clicking any of the state image being available on the Homepage; wherein the desired data category can be accessed accordingly for that particular state.
Click on any of the state name, will lead to another webpage for details navigation wherein the name of all the districts of that particular state will be visible on the top. Clicking on any of the district name following 4 categorical windows/section will be visible.
Sub-Category: Here the listing of broad data-categories for that particular district will be visible.
Sub-Category-1: The broad data-categories are further divided into their sub data categories which can be found under this heading.
IMPORTANT NOTE:Depending upon the depth of the available data, number of the Sub-Categories can be increased to Sub-Category-2, Sub-Category-3 and so on. By default only sub-Category-1 box will be visible; the other category boxes will be displayed on the availability of data, automatically in horizontal manner.
Year: Almost each data is available for a respective year. The list of available respective years will be shown in this heading.
Result: This heading will show the final listing of available data table having self-explanatory table heading. To have better under of the data in the each table, a facility to view its data structure is given wherein a click on the vv-icon will show the data table structure (without actual data) so that the availability of data in a particular table can be understood before actually viewing or downloading it.
In the Sub-Category section, click on the require sub data-category.
In the Sub-Category-1 section, click on the require data-category.
In the Year section, click on the year for which the data is require to be accessed.
Once the final available data tables get populated in the Result section, click the table heading to access it.
Once the data table is displayed, it can either viewed or downloaded in MS-Excel, MS-Word, HTML format or the print of the table can also be taken out, subject to the rights assigned with the access.
Navigating the site for data without making Login
Even without making the Login into the site initially, the data can be navigated using following steps; however in order to view, print, or download the data, login is require to be made as suggested in the following steps:
Click on State Map/Name being available on the home page of the website
Clicking on any of the State Map/Name, will lead to another webpage where in the name of the districts for that particular State which is clicked for the information will visible. Along with the district names, following 4 categorical windows/section will be visible
Sub-Category:This section gives listing of broad data categories for a particular district.
Sub-Category-1: The sub data-categories are further divided into their sub data categories which can be found under this heading.
Year:Almost each data is available for a respective year. The list of available respective years will be shown in this heading.

Since the login is not made in the website yet, therefore following dialog box will prompted in order to make the login before accessing the data.
On making the successful login, as mentioned in the related section, data table will get open which can either be viewed or downloaded in MS-Excel, MS-Word, HTML format or the print of the table can also be taken out, subject to the rights assigned with the access.
Navigate with the data-categories and states
While navigating the data, facility is being given to switch the navigation to any of the following sections:
Navigation can be switched to any of the State and its respective districts.
Searching the data on the Site
The data can also easily be searched using “Search Facility” available through Search Box being made available on top of the website.
The data available relating to the submitted keyword or phrases would appear as a search result in the form of a listing of data table headings. Any data table heading in order to view the data within the table can be clicked as per the steps mentioned in section “Navigating the site for Data”
Data on the site is being provided on “AS IS” basis based upon its availability from its source. In case, search result doesn’t show data related to the submitted keyword or phrase, a separate data request can be made using contact us form. However, being a secondary level provider, no assurance can be given to provide requested data
Time-Out Period
For security purpose the time-out period for the website is set for 20 minutes. Hence, after making successful Login, if the site is remain idle for 20 minutes then an automatic Logout will be made and then re-login into the site would be required.
Also to ensure that a proper Logout is made once the work on the site is done by pressing Logout button being made available on the top of the website. Please do close the website directly by using close button of the browser; doing so, will freeze the access for next 20 minutes.
